Server maker Stratus discloses ransomware attack

Stratus Technologies, a provider of availability solutions for critical infrastructure, said it was hit by a ransomware attack that made the company to take some of its systems offline to prevent the spread of the ransomware.

According to the company’s statement, the incident took place on March 17, 2020. As a precautionary measure, Stratus took the Active Service Network (ASN) and Stratus Service Portal offline and notified its customers and partners to provide further support.

“Additionally, we notified federal law enforcement authorities and enlisted third-party subject matter specialists to assess the nature and scope of the event,” Stratus said.

The company did not say what kind of ransomware was involved in the attack, or if any data was stolen
